We call eating when you are stressed “emotional eating.” The calories, carbohydrates, and fat in the food we eat calms us down and makes us feel good. The key to curbing emotional eating is developing the awareness that you are stressed and making healthier choices. Take a short walk, dance for a few minutes, talk to a friend, watch a show you love, or learn some stress reduction practices.
